Hill Street Storm Drainage Improvement Project

The storm drainage improvement project is for the area in and around Hill Street.  The construction project boundaries are Tryon Street to the southeast, Trade Street to the northeast, South Cedar Street and West 1st Street to the north, and Palmer Street to the southwest. The project includes storm drainage improvements that reduce house and street flooding or will repair failing infrastructure.

N Church St (901) Storm Drainage Improvement Project – CANCELLED

This project will be constructed through a STW unspecified contract eliminating the need for the project to go out for bid.

The purpose and need for the construction project is to improve the storm drainage infrastructure (i.e. pipe systems and culverts) to reduce flooding and to enhance degraded stream reaches to reduce erosion and improve water quality.

High Ridge (4101) Storm Drainage Improvement Project

The purpose and need for the construction project is to improve the storm drainage infrastructure (i.e. pipe systems and culverts) to reduce flooding and to enhance degraded stream reaches to reduce erosion and improve water quality.  This project is under review.  Location and project details will be provided after review is complete.

McDonald Avenue (Culvert) Storm Drainage Improvement Project – CANCELLED

“This will be done as part of a design-build project: Dairy Branch Sewer Improvements.  I think this will be Phase 3 of that project.  The design-build team has already been selected and are currently working through their guaranteed max price (GMP) before they go to Council for approval.  We had a couple questions on the GMP for our part that the d-b team is working through.  I believe their intent is to go to Council in the next couple months with construction starting in summer/late summer, so probably not until FY23.”

Severn (3739) Storm Drainage Improvement Project

This construction project is located in Beverly Woods and will improve the storm drainage infrastructure and repair failing infrastructure in order to reduce flooding of streets, properties and structures.

9th and College Storm Drainage Improvement Project

The 9th and  College Storm Drainage Improvement Project is located in Uptown Charlotte within the 9th Street Right-of- Way between North College Street and the CATS Blue Line Extension light rail. The project will upgrade and replace storm drainage, sanitary sewer, and water main infrastructure within this block of 9th Street. The project will also include sidewalk, hardscape, pavement, and pavement markings replacement.

City View/McAlpine Storm Drainage Improvement Project

The purpose and need for this construction project is to improve the storm drainage infrastructure (i.e. pipe systems and culverts) to reduce flooding and to enhance degraded stream reaches to reduce erosion and improve water quality.

Louise Ave Storm Drainage Improvement Project

This construction project is located just east of downtown along an unnamed tributary to Little Sugar Creek on Louise Ave. The purpose and need for the project is to improve the storm drainage infrastructure (i.e. pipe systems and culverts) to reduce flooding and to enhance degraded stream reaches to reduce erosion and improve water quality.
