Sodium Chloride Deicing Salt

The City of Charlotte requires Sodium Chloride Salt for deicing City streets and roads, and as a preventative measure for any anticipated snowy or icy street conditions.   This solicitation is to provide bulk tonnage delivery of Sodium Chloride Deicing Salt that has been treated with an anti-caking agent to the addresses specified by the Charlotte Department of Transportation (CDOT).  The contract established will be for one year with the option for four (4) one-year renewal options.

The City of Charlotte has determined that it will utilize a Reverse Auction to obtain pricing for its Sodium Chloride Deicing Salt.  A Reverse Auction will utilize a 2-step process to obtain pricing from suppliers via a web-based online platform where multiple suppliers are able to submit descending prices, multiple times within a proscribed time period.

Ready Mix Concrete with Portland Cement

Ready mix concrete and cement products are used in the maintenance, repair and installation of sidewalks, curbs and gutters, driveways, traffic signal cabinet foundations, pedestrian signal foundations, and accessible ramps.   This is to provide Ready Mix Concrete w/Portland Cement and/or cement product to the Charlotte Department of Transportation (CDOT), Street Maintenance Division (SMD).  All materials provided are to be either delivered by the successful bidder to specified job sites, or picked up at the successful bidders plant, by city-owned vehicles.

Lee S. Dukes WTP HVAC Replacement

Charlotte Water will be replacing the Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) unit for the administration building at Lee S. Dukes Water Treatment Plant (WTP).  This project will be an in-kind replacement.

Protective Gloves

Protective gloves are necessary to provide appropriate safeguards for City employees. Departments require a wide variety of materials designed for many types of workplace hazards. Employee safety and productivity are enhanced by additional application requirements for performance, fit and comfort.

The scope of this Request for Quote (RFQ) is to establish a contract for the purchase and delivery of gloves within seven (7) calendar days from the placement of order.

Water Treatment & Wastewater Treatment Chemicals-CANCELLED

Charlotte Water, a department of the City of Charlotte, utilizes chemicals in its Water Treatment and Waste Water treatment process at all of its plants. These plants estimated utilizations are included in the total estimated annual utilization for the purpose of providing annual quantity. The Supplier provide a full-service, turnkey solution to provide the Products and Services .

Chemicals supplied shall not contain soluble minerals or organic substances in quantities capable of producing deleterious or injurious effect upon public health or water quality. Product shall not contain quantities or concentrations of any metals including but not limited to mercury, zinc, copper, arsenic, cyanide or any other impurity that prevents compliance with NPDES permits or 503 Biosolids regulations or other regulations in place. The National Sanitation Foundation Standard Number 60 and/or 61 will be used as the guideline for acceptability. Analysis as required must be submitted for evaluation of bids prior to award of contract.

Emergency Bagged Ice

The City of Charlotte is looking to receive quotes for Emergency Bagged Ice.   The intent of this resulting contract is to be pre-positioned in the event a state of emergency has been declared by the Governor of North Carolina and/or federally declared disaster area as designated by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).  The Company would be required to deliver bags of ice and a merchandiser for storage to specified locations by a City department during the emergency event.

Police Interceptor Vehicles

The City’s annual budget includes funding to replace or add vehicles to the City’s fleet based on assessment of vehicles and equipment conducted by Fleet Management to determine replacement needs using a rating of vehicle usage, age, maintenance cost, and condition. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) will add or replace pursuit vehicles, both marked and unmarked, as identified within the City’s capital equipment list.

Traffic Signal Components

The City of Charlotte is seeking one or more companies to provide various traffic signal components including pedestrian signal parts, traffic signal controllers, and blank out signs for the Charlotte Department of Transportation.

Citywide Uniforms and Related Equipment and Services

This is a City-wide solicitation  to purchase uniforms, related equipment, and services including, but not limited to dress uniforms, long and short sleeve shirts, pants, hats, ties, leather belts, outerwear and shoes.   This also includes fitting, tailoring, measuring service, account management and other related services for a period of three years with the option to extend the contract for two additional one-year terms.
