Concourse E Moving Walkways

This project is to install three pair of new moving walkways on Concourse E at Charlotte Douglas International Airport (“CLT”). The Contractor shall provide new conveying systems that will work with the existing pit conditions and configurations, noting that one pair will be shortened by approximately 30’ to improve passenger circulation. Removal and disposal of the moving walkways, temporary infill of the of the existing pits, and pit modifications required to the first pair of moving walkways (E-MW-01/E-MW-02) are part of the separate Concourse E Renovations project (currently underway) and thus are not part of this scope of work. As such, it is imperative that the Contractor closely coordinate with the Concourse E Renovations project through the CLT project manager.

Valet Parking Upfit

The Valet Parking Upfit Project at Charlotte Douglas International Airport relocates the temporary valet parking location to a new permanent premium service valet parking operation and experience for the CLT passengers at the basement level of the Hourly Deck.  The Valet Parking Upfit Project will include a customer transaction counter, customer waiting area, key storage room with passthrough window, employee breakroom, storage closet, four automatic glass sliding doors, paint and finishes in the Terminal and Parking Area, signage, hardware, and misc. equipment.

University City Blvd Pedestrian Crossings

This Project will install 270 LF of proposed 12′ wide multi-use-path, curb ramps, crosswalks across NC 49, Pedestrian concrete island, milling/resurfacing, storm drainage and pedestrian hybrid beacon with mast arms near the intersection of University Blvd and Mark Twain Road. This project will also install pedestrian crossings, wheelchair ramps, traffic signals milling/resurfacing and storm drainage system at the intersection of University City Blvd and Suther Rd.91347

Sardis Road North Sidewalk

This project will provide new sidewalk along Sardis Road North from Sardis Road to westernmost intersection of Rittenhouse Circle and Sardis Road North. Project length = 0.5 miles.

Concrete Ped Refuge Island (between Kilcullen Dr. and Rittenhouse Circle)

7th Street Parallel Bike Routes

This project will build bike facilities in several different locations throughout the Elizabeth neighborhood to create safer conditions and improve ease of travel for cyclists and pedestrians, including approximately 2.1 miles of sharrows, modernization of two existing rectangular rapid flashing beacons, replacement of 10 wheelchair ramps, a new pedestrian crossing at Pecan Avenue and Shenandoah Avenue, implementation of new bike detection cameras, a new full traffic signal at Bascom Street and 7th Street, and a curb extension located at the intersection of Pecan Avenue and 8th Street.

McAlpine WWTP Biosolids Treatment Facility Reliability

This will be an Invitation to Bid for Charlotte Water. This project will involve the rehabilitation of Biosolids Treatment Facilities. Facilities generally include digesters, digester control buildings, biogas conditioning facilities, digested sludge storage tanks, and dewatering buildings.

Sharon Amity Road Intelligent Transportation System (ITS)

This project will install single‐mode fiber optic cable installed in new directionally bored, hand-dug, and trenched conduit, existing conduit, and aerial attachments to poles. It will remove existing copper communication cables. This project includes entrances and interconnect equipment for existing traffic signal control cabinets and the installation of traffic management cameras. This project also includes fiber optic cable splicing, testing, Ethernet communications equipment, traffic management camera equipment, and other related activities.
