SAFT LRV S70 Replacement Batteries

Charlotte Area Transit System Rail Division is requesting to purchase 12 LRV S70 SAFT NICKEL CADMIUM BATTERY MODEL SRX220F3 COMPRISED OF 20 HIGH RATE SINTERED/PBE CELLS housed. The original life span of the current batteries have reached their maximum production life and inventory spares need to be replaced to ensure revenue service isn’t interrupted.

McDowell Creek Waste Water Treatment Plant Dewatering, Disposal and Cleaning

The project consists of removing and properly disposing of all materials currently stored in Digester No. 5 and cleaning Digester No. 5 located at McDowell Creek Waste Water Treatment Plant in Huntersville, NC. Material stored in the digester may have been in place for up to 15 years and includes but is not limited to: grit, digested bio-solids, water and rags.

The Company shall transport and dispose of the materials removed from the digester to an appropriately permitted, licensed, EPA Subtitle D landfill facility of the Company’s choice. Material removal, transportation and disposal shall be performed in accordance with all applicable local, state and federal laws.  If the material is deemed allowable for land application and Company has permit to land apply, then the material may be removed and land applied.

Concourse D Widebody Ground Power Unit (GPU) Electrical Upgrades

The purpose of this solicitation is for the completion of Concourse D Widebody GPU Electrical Upgrades. This will consist of installing seven 150 amp circuits to feed new ground power units in order to support the widebody aircraft consistently parked at these gates.  The estimated contract erm is three months.

Traffic Signal and Fiber Maintenance

The purpose of this RFP is to contract traffic signal and fiber maintenance for the next 3 years on the signalized intersections within the City of Charlotte. This RFP is for fiber, cabinet, ground-level and aerial maintenance. There may be one or more successful firms, and work will be divided among the firms at the City’s discretion.

Bus Exhaust Cleaning and Repair

Charlotte Area Transit System Bus Operation Division (CATS-BOD) is requesting bids for PM and repair services for our Exhaust Extraction Systems. CATS-BOD maintains two systems between two separate facilities. The facilities are located at 3145 South Tryon Charlotte, NC, and 900 North Davidson Charlotte, NC.

Airfield Wind Cone Replacement (Informal Bid)

The purpose of this project to remove four (4) existing wind cones located at the north and south ends of airfield at Charlotte Douglas International Airport and install four (4) new wind cones, provided by the Airport. Contractor is responsible to maintain a safe and clean operation and for security of all material and equipment while on site. Contractor is responsible to repair any items damage caused by work performed while on site. All staff assigned to project are required to be badge in accordance with airport security policy. Staff must properly display badge at all time, on the upper part of body visual to security and official members of the Airport. Any loss, damaged or stolen badges MUST be reported immediately to your airport contract.

On-Call Airfield Lighting Maintenance

The Facilities Department of Charlotte Douglas International Airport maintains the airfield, including runways and taxiways and the lights, signs, regulators, and control systems within the AOA. (Aircraft Operational Area). This includes a network of wire and conduit, including cans and manholes. This Contract will be an on-call as-needed basis. It will also include, not be limited to the following: power, distribution, lighting, conduit, panels, equipment connections, and high voltage. Most of this work will be in and on the airfield at Charlotte Douglas International Airport.

Cummins Engine Repair Service

CATS BOD (Bus Operations Department) is seeking an authorized vendor that can provide vehicle repair services for Cummins engines. The vendor must guarantee workmanship and honor warranty of the components replaced. The repair services of the Cummins engines shall include but not be limited to; diagnostics, routine repairs, and replacement of all mechanical engine components and accessories, all sensors on the engine or vehicle that could cause an engine fault code, and any wiring and harnesses that could cause an engine fault code. The contract will include the selling CATS the licenses of Cummins Insite (Pro and Basic) annually. In addition the contract will include selling CATS a subscription to Cummins QuickServe Online. This will allow the addition of new employees to the CATS subscription and have their own service training IDs.

Rail Tool Calibration

Requesting a solicitation for Rail Maintenance and Maintenance Wayside equipment calibration. Seeking competitive proposals from accredited calibration service’s to provide repair and calibration services for test and measurement equipment. It is the desire of CATS Rail Operations to partner with multiple vendors for these services.

Calibration of tools and equipment is a necessary part of the quality control process for CATS Rail Operations for proper maintenance of our railcars and rail infrastructure. Tools that have exceeded their calibration due date are taken out of rotation and noted as past the calibration due date.

CATS Rail Operations is governed by our own internal calibration policy which is largely based on APTA standards. In compliance with our calibration policy, CATS Rail Operations sends out equipment throughout the year for calibration and/or repair utilizing various vendors and annually hosts an onsite calibration.
