Foxrun/Burtonwood Storm Drainage Improvement Project

This project is bordered by Rama Road to the north, McAlpine Creek to the south, Monroe Road to the east and Burlwood Road to the west.  The drainage system consists of open channel and closed pipe systems underneath City maintained roads.  This was previously identified as a major capital project from the watershed ranking prioritization process with a score of 54 of 100.  The ranking protocol identifies 30 structures that experience flooding in the 100-year storm event and 16 roads that experience transverse overtopping events that do not meet current standards.  A holistic project is needed to cost beneficially address the drainage system issues.

 

Canceled – Fairway Ridge Road Storm Drainage Improvement Project

Update: This project will no longer be standalone and will become part of Collective AC SDIP.

This project is located along Fairway Ridge Road bordered by 4 Mile Creek Rd and Ballantyne Commons Pkwy. The existing drainage system consists of the culvert and closed pipe system under city-maintained roads.  The drainage system is in poor condition and flooding has been reported.

Monroe Road Multi Use Path (MUP)

The purpose of this project is to provide safer pedestrian conditions along Monroe Road from Eaton Road to McCullen Way. Currently, there are two active city projects in the vicinity of this project. This MUP will fill a key gap between these two projects, providing a safer and more connected route for pedestrians and cyclists.

Hidden Valley Storm Drainage Improvement Project

This project is bordered by Highway I-85 to the north, Cinderella Road to the south, Echo Glen Road to the east, and West Sugar Creek Road to the west.  The drainage system consists of open channel and closed pipe systems underneath city-maintained roads.  This was previously identified as a major capital project from the watershed ranking prioritization process, scoring 73 of 100.  The ranking protocol identifies 18 structures that experience flooding in the 100-year storm event and 7 roads that experience transverse overtopping events that do not meet current standards.  The entire neighborhood has received a patchwork of repairs over the years and a holistic project is needed to cost beneficially address the drainage system issues.

Shamrock Drive Complete Street

Project limits are from Beckwith Place to Flamingo Ave (0.9 miles). Project includes new turn lanes, sidewalks, painted buffered bike lanes, two roundabouts, wheelchair ramps, ped medians, driveways, curb and gutter, storm drainage, street trees, public art and pedestrian crossings.

Central Kilborne Norland Intersection & Street Upgrade

Limits are from Woodland Dr. to just south of Havenwood Rd. / Kilborne Dr. intersection (.87 miles). The project includes a new urban greenspace named Potter Place (including public art), separated bike lanes, protected intersection improvements at Central Ave., wayfinding, storm drainage, street trees, and pedestrian medians.

Prosperity Church Road (Old Ridge to Benfield) Improvements

The project proposes to widen Prosperity Church Rd approximately 0.3 mi between Old Ridge Rd and Benfield Rd to provide curb and gutter, sidewalk, storm drainage, bicycle lanes, and on-street parking, as well as a roundabout at Prosperity Church Rd and Prosperity Ridge Rd.

6th and Church Pipe Repair

This project consists of 400 LF of existing 24” RCP along 6th St, from N Church St to N Popular St, will be rehabilitated through pipe bursting methods. Two work pits will be excavated, one at the corner of 6th & N Church St, and the other at 6th & N Popular St. The project will require road closures at 6th & N Church St and 6th & N Popular St, and 1 lane closure along 6th street. A new stormwater junction box will be installed at the corner of 6th street and N Popular St.
