Solid Waste Services Master Plan – Advance Planning

The project is a study of the current City of Charlotte Solid Waste collection process, the existing facilities for the processing of solid waste, and future needs that include providing strategic locations for additional facilities. The consultant needs to be able to make recommendations as well as have the resources to design a facility.

The selected firm will review the Solid Waste collection process and develop a master plan for how services should be provided throughout the City of Charlotte. This will include identifying possible locations for facilities, the make-up of facilities, and co-location opportunities with other new or existing City facilities.

 

River District Temporary Firehouse #44

CFD plans to build a temporary firehouse for the newly developed
River District to manage response volumes in the area. The
firehouse will be removed after the permanent firehouse is built.

The building is proposed to be located on Dixie River Road, near the future Catawba Crossing, and the parcel ID number is 14128101.

River District Permanent Firehouse #44

Charlotte Fire Department plans to build a mass timber all-electric infill 2-story, 3-bay firehouse to manage response volumes in the newly developed River District. The facility will be approximately 14,600 square feet. The building is proposed to be located on Dixie River Road, near the future Catawba Crossing, and the parcel ID number is 14128101, parcel 3. The city is planning to utilize the Progressive Design-Build delivery system, city sustainability guidelines, city building standards, specifications, and past firehouse plans as a guide to meet the needs of the fire department. The city has completed the selection process for an Owner’s Advisor to assist with the procurement selection process for a design-build team.

Franklin Water Treatment Plant Main Building Renovations

This will be a request for an Architectural and Engineering service package to retrofit the Franklin Water Treatment Plant Administrative Building. Phase 1 will include overall schematics, the proposed layout of the building, structural assessment, existing conditions drawings, and mapping. Phase 2 will include detailed engineering and structural design, along with architectural design. Phase 3 will include technology requests (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition system, security, etc.), construction phasing/planning office spaces, finishings, exterior and landscaping. Phase 4 will include project permitting and construction admin services. There is a potential for the renovations to be broken up into smaller projects after Phase 1 is complete.

Professional Engineering Services for Pipeline Rehabilitation and Construction Inspection Services

Charlotte Water is soliciting Statement of Qualifications from a qualified engineering firm to provide survey, design, contract administration, and construction management (if necessary) of multiple pipeline replacement projects and other General Services as requested by the City. All work will be located within the Charlotte Water service area. The projects will be assigned to the Engineer during the course of the contract period as they become available. Projects may vary in size, length and scope, and are to be completed according to the individual project schedule.

Terminal Building D/E Connector Renovations & Addition

The project of renovations of the D/E Connector, starting at the Atrium and encompassing the primary circulation path of the eastern portion of the Passenger Terminal Building to the end of the existing moving walkways and all areas south of that path, up to the Concourse C Connector.  The project includes the following:

a) Repositioning the major passenger circulation route of the D/E connector between the Atrium to the end of the moving walkways at the approach of Concourse D;

b) Relocating the airline lounge space from the departure level to an upper-level location while expanding it to 40,000 square feet;

c) Providing a new passenger destination and experience at the departures level that will provide increased financial returns to the airport; and

d) Providing service area at the apron level to help with operations within the DECO area.

On-Call Architectural Consultant Services

Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) is seeking statements of qualifications from professional architecture, architectural engineering, and design-focused firms to provide task order architecture and design concept services. Services are expected to cover a range of smaller studies, conceptual designs, investigations, coordination processes, and technical support of a limited nature. Many of the anticipated tasks will be themed toward facilitating decision-making and implementation of projects in Charlotte’s Destination CLT Capital Improvement Program (CIP) that are or will be designed and constructed under other contracts. The Task Order assignments are intended as extension-of-staff efforts and expertise for the effective delivery of Destination CLT projects and other projects or issues to come before the Development Department. This Architecture Task Order contract is focused largely but not exclusively on “vertical work” and is complemented by two other Task Order support contracts for Engineering & Construction, and Planning.

On-Call Construction Administration and Inspection Services

Charlotte Water (CLTWater) will be soliciting Statements of Qualifications (SOQ) from qualified engineering firms(s)  to provide On-Call Construction Administration & Inspection Services for miscellaneous projects. Task Orders will be issued against the contract for each project. Projects may be for water
or sewer projects and may focus on pipeline, lift stations, pump stations, water tanks, treatment plant work, vertical building construction or any combination thereof.
