CLT – HVAC Maintenance Services – CANCELLED

The Facilities Department of Charlotte Douglas International Airport maintains a portfolio of various buildings, including the airport terminal, offices, fire stations, and tenant buildings, among others. The intent of this solicitation is to have a Company provide HVAC services for various Airport properties. The scope of services is required to assist the Airport with renovations, remodels, and maintenance of existing facilities. It will also include, but not limited to the following: service work, refrigerant, and hydronic piping, installation of equipment, duct work, insulation, and low voltage wiring.

Three (3) year term with two (2) additional one (1) year renewals.

CLT – Air Filter Services – DUPLICATE (VOID)

Provide air filtration products and perform quarterly changes of these air filtration products for the air handling units which condition the air for the main terminal building, five concourses, and the CLT Center. Provide the labor to install the new air filters and to dispose of the old air filters from each of the air handling units in the service areas.

Three (3) year term with two (2) additional one (1) year renewals.

McAlpine Wastewater Treatment Plant Dewatering Building HVAC Replacement

Replacing the McAlpine Waste Water Treatment Plant Dewatering Building HVAC system including all associated mechanical equipment, electrical, I&C, and ancillary components.

This project includes the HVAC upgrades at McAlpine Creek WWTP Thickening/Dewatering Building. The upgrades would include the replacement of air handling units, make up air units, exhaust fans, ductworks, the addition of split AC units, and the addition of an alarm and monitoring system for HVAC equipment. The scope will also include some structural and architectural rehabilitation needed to accommodate new ductwork and HVAC equipment.

Concourse E – Hot Water Piping Relocation

This project is to relocate the heating hot water piping from under the ramp pavement and concourse floor and reconnect in the terminal ceiling space. 60% night work, 40% daytime work.  Project term will be 150 days.

 

Fire Station #35 HVAC Renovation (Re-bid)

This project will renovate the existing HVAC System, Controls and Water heaters for Charlotte Fire Station 35. The scope of work includes removal and disposal of the existing mechanical system ductwork, furnaces, condensers, and dedicated outdoor air unit and installation of new mechanical split system
Dx/Furnaces and air distribution, and reconnect with existing DDC controls.

Condenser Water Loop System – Concourse E- Phase 9 – Sycamore Brewing & PDQ

The purpose of this contract is to build a complete Condenser Water Loop as designed by AME Consulting Engineers. The system will be designed using a shell and tube heat exchanger connected to the Airport’s Central Chiller Plant, chilled water piping, to provide tempered condenser water for the food concessions, water-cooled, condensing units on walk-in cooler and freezers. Contract term 90 days.

Hidden Valley Firehouse #45

Design and construct a new 2-story, 3-bay firehouse at 14,626 square feet, to be located at 5800 North Tryon Street. This facility will be a new infill firehouse that will alleviate high call volume for surrounding firehouses. A new firehouse must be built when a new “point of dispatch” is required in order to meet response time standards.  The proposed facility will be located on a 2.03-acre parcel that facilitates the redevelopment of abandoned/underutilized sites and vacant sites. This location and site selection shall meet the City of Charlotte Policy for Sustainable City Facilities and Charlotte Fire Department Facilities Master Plan.

This project will pursue LEED certification. The site will incorporate solar panels and a geothermal well system with water source heat pumps.

CMPD Animal Care and Control Compliance & ADA Renovations, Phase II

Phase II Animal Care & Control renovations will address non-compliant issues per the NC Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Animal Welfare Section (NCDA&CS) Inspection reports issued in 2018, 2020, and 2021. Phase II will address renovations for separation of species, inadequate ventilation surfaces not impervious to moisture, slab repair, additional square footage for dog and cat housing, and if funding is available fencing and gate replacement for dog kennels. This phase also will address ADA Barrier renovations to meet international ADA code requirements.

The facility is located at 8315 Byrum Drive, near the airport. This facility is just under 30 years old and the renovations required are a direct response to the NCDA&CS inspection reports. Also, the project will incorporate renovations to address ADA barriers in the facility, such as door hardware, signs, plumbing, minor parking lot curbing, etc.

CMPD background checks will be required for all construction staff, vendors, and anyone occupying the site during construction and deliveries.

Variable Frequency Drive Maintenance and Services

The City is seeking firms to provide routine preventive maintenance and repair services for approximately 50 Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), ranging from 208 volts to 460 volts, located at various City facilities, including the Airport.  Brand names include ABB, Danfoss, Mitsubishi, Schneider Electric, and Yaskawa.  VFDs will be checked as needed for a full service of the VFD (cleaning, replacement parts, etc.), and involve inspection, testing, and reporting on each VFD’s condition.  The City uses VFDs in various applications involving pumps and fans for HVAC systems to achieve energy savings.
