This Request for Qualifications is to select several firms to provide consulting engineering services on a task order on-call basis.
Generally, the Engineer will provide consulting services that may include planning, design, environmental, and construction administration. In addition, the Engineer may be asked to assist in the development of grant application as well as agreements including federal funding.
This project provides design services to Charlotte Water. The project involves rehabilitation of Preliminary and Primary Treatment Facilities. Facilities generally include headworks, flow equalization basins, primary clarifiers, and gravity thickeners. A facilities evaluation, conducted by the design team, will determine the final scope of work.
As part of the West Ramp Dual Taxilanes Project at CLT, this construction package will include widening of the ramp adjacent to Concourse A to allow parallel taxi operations. The project includes erosion and sedimentation control, grading, drainage, pipe lining of a large drainage pipe, installation of new airfield concrete, full-depth replacement of portions of existing airfield concrete, asphalt paving, marking, and airfield lighting/signage.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services will be requesting proposals from qualified companies interested in providing Professional Engineering Services for Various Storm Water Services Projects. The selected firm/s will use HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, SWMM, and/or a hydraulic grade line closed system computer model, or an approved alternative method, and all methods will be per the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Design Manual. The city’s then-current AutoCAD standards will be used to produce all plans and profiles. The selected company(ies) may be required to pursue stream restoration and enhancement for mitigation credit per NCDEQ and USACE requirements, where appropriate.
Project descriptions for all three Scopes of Services will be found within the solicitation document. The projects are anticipated to be assigned and initiated under each Scope of Services but are subject to change based on future Capital Improvement Project priorities and funding.
This will be a request for qualification for Design Services. The project scope includes; new clarifier, new thickener, filter replacement, electric and piping upgrades, etc. Anticipated 16 month design with 20 month construction.
Charlotte Water’s Engineering division will be seeking proposals from qualified companies interested in providing miscellaneous environmental testing and analysis services. These services will be on-call and are needed to support various Charlotte Water projects.

The City anticipates selecting one (1) or more firms to provide these services on a task order basis for several pond and dam rehabilitation/ stormwater control measure (SCM) projects. This will include initial feasibility studies, planning and design fir projects that are not specified at this time. Additional tasks will include evaluation and repair design of existing municipal SCM projects. These projects are anticipated to start scoping upon contract award.

Work will be issued via written Task Orders, which will specify the requirements of the various projects. Multiple Task Orders may be issued for each project. Multiple task orders may be issued at once. The City of Charlotte reserves the right, upon successful completion of a given Task Order, to issue subsequent Task Orders to the same or a different Company.

The West Ramp Dual Taxi lanes project at Charlotte Douglas International Airport will provide for the design and construction of dual taxi lanes on the west ramp between taxiways E14 and E15 and includes the realignment of gates on old Concourse A to accommodate future fleet mixes. The following scope is based on planning level analysis and will need to be confirmed through the design. The current taxi lane configuration lacks sufficient bidirectional flow and consists of a single parallel Group V taxi lane supporting each runway and a single Group III taxi lane around the perimeter of the existing terminal apron
