The City of Charlotte Solid Waste Services seeks certified Small Business Enterprises (SBE) Service Providers to perform routine lubrication and preventive maintenance to decrease metal-to-metal contact and wear on automated arms and hinge points on City collection vehicles.
In support of the City of Charlotte’s Charlotte Business INClusion (CBI) Program, targeted outreach efforts for this procurement opportunity and resulting contract will be directed to certified Small Business Enterprises (SBEs) within the Charlotte Combined Statistical Area.
Interested vendors are encouraged to be registered in the City’s vendor registration system and submit an application to establish itself as a certified SBE with the Charlotte Business INClusion Program prior to the Proposal due date.
The Company shall supply quality, trained professionals to properly diagnose, test, disassemble, clean, and/or replace OE parts as needed and reassemble. The Company is required to use genuine Meritor parts and employees certified to rebuild the differential. To help reduce turn-around time, the Company shall keep one differential (per part number) on hand. The Company will be required to return the reconditioned item or items to our facilities within twenty-four (24) hours of pick up.
Charlotte Area Transit System Bus Operation Division (CATS-BOD) requesting and repair services for our shop equipment. CATS-BOD uses multiple small engine and custodial equipment between two facilities. The facilities are located at: 3145 South Tryon Charlotte, NC and 900 North Davidson Charlotte, NC.

CATS (Charlotte Area Transit System) is looking for turnout service program that includes regular servicing work such as maintenance, inspection, and repair. Working in accordance with MOW Maintenance of Way) rail maintenance and track safety standards such a repair made by the contractor will play an important role in prolonging the service life of these areas.
A new contract will be needed for future paratransit bus purchases. 10 vehicles are estimated to be purchased in the first year. Specifications will be provided in the solicitation.
Purchase of 24 Standard Simme-Seats for the Bus Improvement project as a part of the 5310 grant.
The Simme seat bench at three feet takes up a small foot print on concrete while seating the same number of customers as a standard six foot bench. The Simme seat combines the seat and bus stop using up less space, which in turn reduces the amount of funds needed for concrete construction.
