Spectrum Center Traffic Control – CANCELLED

DUPLICATE of “Traffic Control Services”

 

The City of Charlotte provides direct traffic control and logistical support for the Spectrum Center which is host to an estimated 125 sporting, music, business, and other events a year. To reduce visitor risk, increase visitor return rates and minimize oversight and recurring management of City staff, the City has determined that a Traffic Control Plan, and a Company to perform portions of this plan are necessary for select events. During the last year, the City and current Company have provided this support for over 69 events. The selected Company shall be the sole provider of traffic control services for the Spectrum Center and designated areas around the Spectrum Center.

N. Tryon St- 36th St. Streetscape

The project will provide infrastructure improvements that include sidewalk, curb and gutter, milling- resurfacing, pedestrian refuge and signals, cross walks, planting strips, street trees, pedestrian and street lighting, bike lanes, and on-street parking. The project will provide 0.4 miles of streetscape along 36th street between North Tryon Street and Davidson Street. The project will tie into the Blue Line Extension project on 36th street.

Specialized Roadway Construction Services FY22D

This unspecified contract will provide horizontal construction services on an as-needed basis to the Engineering Department. The work includes traffic control, erosion control, clearing and grading, drainage, milling, asphalt paving, pavement markings, retaining wall, concrete curb, sidewalk, driveways, pedestrian refuge island and wheelchair ramps, utility relocation and installations.

This unspecified contract will provide horizontal construction services on an as-needed basis to the Engineering Department. The work includes traffic control, erosion control, clearing and grading, drainage, milling, asphalt paving, pavement markings, retaining wall, concrete curb, sidewalk, driveways, pedestrian refuge island and wheelchair ramps, utility relocation and installations.

I-277 Rail Trail Bridge – Construction

This project will construct a pedestrian bridge over I-277 to connect South End to Uptown. The bridge will be located just west of the existing light rail bridge and will include aesthetic elements to create a signature design. It will also include a new pedestrian rail crossing on the Morehead landing area and will tie the Stonewall plaza into the existing light rail platform.

Westbourne Storm Drainage Improvement Project

The project area covers approximately 20 acres and is roughly bounded by Old Plank Road to the north, Larkhaven Road to the east, Westbourne Drive to the west, and Bellhaven Boulevard to the south. The project includes storm drain improvement including culvert replacements, repair of aging and deteriorating storm drains by way of pipe system upgrades, and channel stabilization improvements. The project also includes water line upgrades and sanitary sewer relocations along with road resurfacing and seeding in affected project areas.

Elvis Storm Drainage Improvement Project

This project consists of two culverts in series under Cedarbrook Drive and Denbur Drive. Both culvert crossings consist of triple barrel corrugated metal pipe systems. This is a project that was identified by the asset management team and both culvert crossings are actively failing, and preliminary calculations show that the culverts are also undersized.

Bonwood Storm Drainage Improvement Project

The project involves analysis of existing conditions to determine areas suitable for improvement, planning analysis of improvement alternatives, and the design and construction of the needed improvements in the Bonwood Storm Drainage Improvement Project (SDIP) area.

The Bonwood SDIP is bordered by Wendover Road to the south, Canterbury Drive to the east and Chadsford Place to the west. This project is within a drainage area of approximately 124 acres and the improvements include paving, curb and gutter, culvert replacements, pipe system lining/repair and upgrades, and minor open channel improvements.
